Trainer Kites: the way to start
Stormboarding is pleased to offer the following Trainer Kites. These kites will not only be fun but will boost your skills quickly in a sport that is all about kite skills. You will have fun and save money by progressing faster in your lesson and will have a kite to share with your buddies while you are out riding.
Ozone Imp 3.5m: affordable, reliable, easy Ozone makes great kites. The new Imp 3.5 is a straightforward way to develop your kite flying skills as well as get your first rides. It is smooth flying with a 3rd line for easy brake and re-launch and fits into a nice and small tube bag. This kite is $250 with an optional quick-release harness loop: $30
If you are after a kite to just fly and share with the little ones, we recommend going a little smaller with the 2m ($199) or 2.5m ($225) sizes. Call to talk about the best size for what you need to get riding and have fun with power kites.
HQ Scout 3m: smooth, quick-turning and ready for practice and riding The Scout is the new and improved Beamer. It is lighter with sewn rather than knotted bridles and has a new control system that allows for nice quick turns. We are very happy with the flying characteristics of this kite and find it pulls harder than it's 3m might suggest. This is a great option for those who want to get riding as well as practice flying with a little more power and responsiveness than the Imp. It comes in a pack with the fixed harness loop on and ready to go on a fixed-4 line system with an easy brake and relaunch system. Scout 3m: $349

Peter Lynn kites: Stability, performance, ease of use and FUN
The most stable kites we have seen, the Peter Lynn Venom is the kite of choice for our school and our own riding. We chose these kites especially for riding on Lake Champlain (or any area with less than steady breeze) because of their incredible stability with performance.
These are twinskin, closed cell foil kites without bridles and are water-relaunchable - easily relaunchable! This makes them an excellent choice for a YEAR ROUND kite.
In the winter, we launch these kites on ice screws, send them to neutral, walk back upwind, put on skis, transfer safety, then chicken loop and are off. Safe and easy.

Ozone Frenzy & Access 2008
The Frenzy remains the top of the line 4-line sheetable open cell snowkite. Extremely well made, very quick to get in the air, re-ride/leashless safety system and huge performance. Kites come complete and ready to fly with excellent technical backpack, lines, bar, safety system and chicken loop. We also recommend getting an ice screw for managing the kite during launch and recovery. The Access is the cruising, forgiving get out and cover miles kite in
the Ozone lineup. Made with the same high quality and attention to
detail we expect from Ozone, this is a great kite for those not looking
for big air but hours and miles across the snow.

HQ Kites
These kites fly great and are an excellent value. We have used the Apex 7.5 in our school with excellent results and the Montana III is ready for more experienced riders to get ripping on the ice. They are 4 line de-power foils with safety systems similar to that on the Ozone. The Apex is the more forgiving, cruisey kite and the Montana III higer aspect and quicker turning for more experienced riders.

Slingshot Ranger Snowkites
We are very pleased to be offering the Slingshot Ranger this year after a great test of the 9m toward the end of last season. This kite is smooth with the excellent details that Slingshot is known for: sliding bar stop on the chicken loop, easy to use and re-set safety system and overall solid worksmanship and performance. We have 3 Bic Ouassou sit-on-top kayaks. They are in perfect condition and great fun for paddling as well as surfing in waves or behind a motorboat. They retail at $464 including paddle and we are selling ours for $275. We will deliver your boat to you in Chittenden County.
